How to prepare?
If you are thinking, “I have a heart for missions; what next?” perhaps we can help.
#1 Pray
Talk to your pastor, parents, home group leaders and friends about what God is laying on your heart. Even if you can’t take a trip right away, lift those countries and the teams in those countries up in prayer. (The book Operation World by Jason Mandryk is a great resource that outlines prayer needs for every nation around the world.)
#2 Start preparing
#3 Educate yourself
We recommend the following books for anybody interested in missions:
There is also a medical missions conference in Kansas City every May that we have found helpful. Check out their website here.
The Institute of International Medicine also has online educational courses in a variety of topics. Check them out here. (If you are interested in receiving CME/CNE credits, look here.)
